![]() ![]() ![]() “Ah, well…” He seemed lost for words for only a moment. Kurosaki Ichigo seemed to be taken aback by that. “D-don’t say it like that Kurosaki-san! You’ll give everybody the wrong idea!” It wouldn’t have been nearly as embarrassing if Arisawa Tatsuki wasn’t standing right behind him. Rin’s cheeks, and the tips of her ears turned beat red as the orange headed first year ran to stand before her. “Yo! Tohsaka!” For the second time that morning, Rin spun in place to meet an underclassman, at least this time it was the one she was looking for. “You as well, Ishida-san.” Rin, of course, was much better at sounding sincere. “Ah… well, it was nice chatting with you, Tohsaka-senpai.” Uryu waved dismissively, although he probably intended for it to be more friendly, his demeanor was always dismissive. “I just felt like it this morning.” I’m definitely fixing those clocks as soon as I get home. I didn’t notice all my clocks got messed up by my father’s magic seal breaking. “If you don’t mind my asking, why are you here so early?” Uryu’s curiosity was undoubtedly a jab at her pride, for the only answer that saves face is a lie. Naturally… you just want to show him up, eh? Besides, if Emiya-senpai refuses her then I have no choice but to pick up his slack otherwise Mitsuzuri-senpai is the one who suffers for it.” “I don’t recall seeing you there before…” “Ah, are you a member?” Rin’s eyes widened. “I’m only here because Mitsuzuri-senpai requested my presence in the Archery Club.” “It’s not even seven yet.” Uryu replied flatly. “What time is it anyway?” Rin asked, smiling as best she could. He’s only from the oldest Magus family to migrate to Japan. The reverse was less true, but never the less, for a Magus to not know who the Ishida were would have been a sin. Ishida Uryu knowing her name was less surprising as she was a hot topic for conversation amongst the first year and second year boys alike. “Ah, Ishida-san…” Rin mumbled, recognizing the boy on sight was perhaps rather telling in spite of their lack of interaction in the past. His right hand pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose while the boy himself seemed unbothered by her scrutiny. “You’re early, Tohsaka-senpai.” Rin pulled an about-face instantly to meet the gaze of her underclassman who was ever so slightly taller than her. ![]() Rin rested her hands on her hips and hummed. The main sidewalk leading to school rested along the riverbank and usually it was the popular route to travel, and quite often she would at least run into her underclassmen on the way. That suited Rin just fine, but even with her preference for empty streets and slow starts in the morning it didn’t change the fact that she expected more people to be in school just before it starts. It could get very quiet in the early morning and nearly dead at night. If there was one thing Rin liked about Karakura Town, and it was that as far as Tokyo’s wards went, it was relatively small and homely. Rin slid out of bed and crawled along the floor to her fallen alarm, where she promptly flipped the switch and stared at the clock face longer than one would think necessary. It was way too early for that kind of planning. She needed to preserve her prana, build up a reserve, and… breakfast. “Whyyyyyyyy…” She wanted to call out so bad, especially with only two days until her deadline. Rin punched her alarm clock -although the reinforcement she cast on it years ago prevented it from breaking or even ceasing it’s ringing until she found the energy to flip the switch- and growled while sitting up much like one would expect from a Jiangshi more than a human being. Fortunately, that was what underclassmen were for. Worst still, after spending half that week solving that ridiculous puzzle her father left, the catalyst her father gave her was completely shattered and there was no way for her to find a suitable catalyst in that time frame on her own. ![]() Almost… no, more like absolutely, while smiling as contentedly as her late father did when drinking a fine wine. It was almost like he wanted to watch her go and commit ritual suicide or something. There was just too much to do, and that damnable fake priest gave her no time to prepare.įrom her perspective, he had practically showed up on her doorstep, handed her a piece of paper, called it her father’s last will, and then told her the Holy Grail War was in one week’s time. While any sane person would go to bed well before midnight to ensure they had enough rest to go to school refreshed the next morning, Rin had no ability to even conceive of such an act. It wasn’t even necessarily her own fault either. Morning was, without a single doubt, Tohsaka Rin’s mortal enemy. Behold! Bleach/Fate crossover fusion thing! Blame Unlimited Blade Works. ![]()
